Join us for the Friday night, July 6th, Franklin Art Crawl special book signing by Coach Mickey Marley for his book Game Ready.
About the Book
In Game Ready, 52 Takeaways for Winning, author and football coach Mickey Marley, reveals the keys to cultivating talent, instilling teamwork, and creating a clear path to victory.
Sports came naturally to Mickey Marley. He grew up alongside three brothers. When the Marley brothers weren’t competing, they were immersed in the physical work of their father’s Middle Tennessee horse and cattle operations. “My daddy was a real- life cowboy,” Coach Marley says of his late father Kid Marley. High stakes rodeoing was a passion for the elder Marley, but he made his living managing farms in Williamson County with the help of his sons.
In his youth, Coach Marley was always expected to tackle chores in the field first. High school coaches tapped into his intensity, energy and focus. Naturally, he found his voice in competition on the football field, becoming a standout athlete and collegiate player. His career decision to coach young people, first at University of Tennessee at Martin then at University School of Jackson, garnered him acclaim among players and coaches.
In this clear and concise book, Coach Marley instructively shares what he has learned from thirty-seven years of coaching, mentoring, and teaching. He resides in Jackson, Tennessee with his wife, Lisa, an educator. When not coaching football, Coach Marley enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren, sharing their passion for sports.
