Julia Fowler, creator of YouTube’s Southern Women Channel, home to the viral video series, “Sh%t Southern Women Say” has written a collection of stories and sayings that has been endorsed by Dolly Parton as “fun, informative, and oh-so Southern.” Julia’s laugh-out-loud truths and observations about the South include essays on charm, beauty and style, chewin’ the fat, love and marriage and more. Gaffney, SC native, Julia Fowler, is the creator of the Southern Women Channel, a growing YouTube channel with over 21 million views. Julia’s new book, Talk Southern To Me, is a collection of comedic essays and southernisms and was released by Gibbs-Smith publishing on March 6, 2018. Julia graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of South Carolina with a BA in Theatre and Dance and is a proud sister of Chi Omega. Julia was in the original cast of Broadway’s Tony Award winning revival of Annie Get Your Gun. She was also in the National Tour of Annie Get Your Gun, the National Tour of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and the Hollywood Bowl’s production of The Producers. Julia’s TV/Film credits include: The Closer, Vegas, Up All Night, Ugly Betty, Hollis & Rae, Retreat, Jake in Progress, Titus, The Young & The Restless, Passions, The Man Show, The Definite Maybe, PBS Rogers and Hart Special, The Tony Awards and she was the “Oscar Girl” at the 81st Annual Academy Awards. Julia is married to television producer, Sam Sokolow, and currently lives in Los Angeles…clear across the country from her beloved South…bless her heart.
