Kathy Bingham Turner is a former corporate director of human resources for newspapers in ten states. After retiring from her career — which included a role at The Tennessean — she spent years researching a remarkable family secret. Uncovering the complicated truth about her grandfather became a passion in retirement.
That research culminated in her debut book, Boss Brooks: A True Story of Fraud, Family, and Forgiveness from Tennessee to Texas, co-authored with journalist and MTSU professor Leon Alligood and published by the University of Tennessee Press. Turner has described the project as “my life’s obsession,” saying she felt she was “meant to do it.” She resides in Franklin, Tennessee.
