Novelist, playwright, screenwriter and songwriter Robert Inman is a native of Elba, Alabama and a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of The University of Alabama with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing. He left a 30-year career in television news in 1996 to devote full time to his writing career.
His latest novel, Villages, will be published in April, 2025 by Livingston Press. He is the author of five previously-published novels: The Governor’s Lady, Home Fires Burning, Old Dogs and Children, Dairy Queen Days, and Captain Saturday. He is also the author Coming Home: Life, Love and All Things Southern and The Christmas Bus.
He is the author of eight published stage plays, including two musicals, and six motion pictures for television, two of which have been “Hallmark Hall of Fame” presentations.
Recordings of his original songs are heard on online musical platforms.
Inman and his wife Paulette live in Franklin, TN. They have two daughters, Larkin Ferris of Wilmington, NC and Lee Farabaugh of Franklin.
