As a small-town Minnesota girl, I led a pretty sheltered life. I was quiet, quirky, and creative (I tried hard for that alliteration). So it’s probably no surprise that I wielded a notebook and pen to transport myself away—and soon developed lofty goals of being published by age 18 (ha!).
Needless to say, I didn’t meet that goal (sorry, 18-year-old self). But fourteen years, thousands of words, and countless dashed hopes later, God finally opened the door to a real-deal book contract.
Trust me—there were lots of times I wanted to give up. It would have been so easy. But I didn’t. I kept going. Because there’s a pull inside me that I can’t shake—to keep writing so I can reach and inspire people like you.
What’s been pulling you? Have you been pouring your blood, sweat, and tears into a passion that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere?
Don’t give up. That desire is there for a reason. Success may not come in the form you’re expecting. But that’s what makes this exciting!
We’re in this together. I’d love to walk side by side on this journey.
