Meet some of Franklin’s Authors

Sally Lea Nance is a native Nashvillian. She is a graduate of St. Cecilia Academy and attended Webster College. She and her husband, a foreign service officer, lived fifteen years overseas, and they retired to Franklin. She owned and operated Cruises Galore. She is related to the Leas through her father, Luke Lea, Jr (son of Colonel Luke Lea). She is the author of The Leas and Lealand.

In 2008 Thessin also became a first-time author with “Ghosts of Franklin: Tennessee’s Most Haunted Town,” a book of ghost stories that expands on Franklin On Foot’s Haunted Franklin tour.

Tony L. Turnbow has studied the history of the Old Natchez Trace for more than 30 years. He practices law in Franklin, Tennessee and is the author of Hardened to Hickory: The Missing Chapter in Andrew Jackson’s Life.
