A Bookstore Worth Leaving Nashville For

Nashville has wonderful bookstores. Landmark Booksellers is the one that has what they do not: roughly 35,000 titles including deep pre-owned and rare stock, more than 2,000 signed first editions, and a wall holding about 200 of the finest books ever written in chronological order. It is a 25 minute drive and it has been worth it since 2005.

Make a Day of It

Landmark sits in the Old Factory Store, the oldest commercial building still standing in Historic Franklin, on a Main Street regularly named one of the best-preserved historic downtowns in America. Park once and you are within a few blocks of the Franklin Theatre, the Main Street shops and restaurants, and the Civil War sites at Carter House and Carnton. Most Nashville visitors come for the bookstore and stay for the afternoon.
