Now We Are Six by A. A. Milne (1927 First Edition, First Printing, Deluxe Blue Leather)
About this book
A handsome first edition, first printing of A. A. Milne's Now We Are Six, the companion volume of verse to Winnie-the-Pooh, with the beloved decorations by Ernest H. Shepard, published by Methuen & Co., London, in 1927. The copyright page carries the "First Published in 1927" first-printing point.
This is the sought-after publisher's deluxe leather issue, bound in blue sheep with the gilt Christopher Robin fishing vignette to the front cover, gilt floral corner ornaments and rules, pictorial gilt spine, and gilt edges, one of the loveliest presentations of the Pooh-era books and limited to a small deluxe printing.
A pre-owned copy in good, sound condition, with the gilt bright and the binding firm, showing age-appropriate rubbing and light surface soiling to the leather. A beautiful display piece and a true collector's first edition, here at Landmark Booksellers.
