Now We Are Six by A. A. Milne (1927, Publisher's Deluxe Leather Binding)
About this book
A handsome copy of A. A. Milne's Now We Are Six, the companion volume of verse to Winnie-the-Pooh, with the beloved decorations by Ernest H. Shepard, published by Methuen & Co., London, in 1927 (third edition, all three 1927 printings following within weeks of the October 13th first).
This is the sought-after publisher's deluxe leather binding, bound in tan leather with the gilt Christopher Robin vignettes stamped to the front cover and spine, gilt rules, and gilt top edge, one of the most attractive presentations of the Pooh-era books. Housed in a removable protective cover.
A pre-owned copy in good, sound condition, with the gilt bright and the binding firm, showing some age-appropriate rubbing and scuffing to the leather. A lovely display piece and a wonderful gift for a collector of Milne and Shepard, here at Landmark Booksellers.
