Soli Deo Gloria by Gregory Wilbur
About this book
Book Description
J.S. Bach was an unparalleled genius and that fact requires of us a certain reckoning. We cannot, and should not, ignore this gift of grace to the Church. Through an overview of his life and accomplishments, we get to know a man who loved his family well, who taught and mentored countless students, and who served his patrons and church congregations with gifts of exquisite and profound beauty. But rather than a relic of a bygone age, the gregarious, earnest, and devout Bach still teaches us what it means to faithfully craft art, to integrate life within a community, and to set forth principles of creativity, worship, and the theology of music that apply in any age.
