The Sly Old Cat by Beatrix Potter (1971 First Edition, First Appearance in Book Form)

A lovely first edition of The Sly Old Cat, written and illustrated by Beatrix Potter and published by Frederick Warne & Co., London and New York, in 1971. Though Potter created the tale in 1906, this 1971 volume marks its first appearance in book form, with a foreword by Leslie Linder.

The story follows a sly old cat who invites a trusting little mouse to tea with less than honorable intentions, told in Potter's inimitable watercolor style.

A pre-owned copy in excellent condition, with clean color-illustrated boards, a bright interior, and the original pictorial dust jacket. A charming addition for any Beatrix Potter collector or a delightful gift, here at Landmark Booksellers.
