Wendell Berry

Wendell Berry is a farmer, poet, novelist, and essayist who has lived and worked on his hillside farm in Port Royal, Kentucky, for more than fifty years. Across dozens of books he has become one of America’s most beloved and influential writers on land, community, faith, and the meaning of a good life. His Port William novels and stories (among them Jayber Crow, Hannah Coulter, and The Memory of Old Jack) chronicle the life of one fictional Kentucky river town across a century, while his essays, from The Unsettling of America to Our Only World, make a lasting, tender case for stewardship, membership, and care.
